Make an Appointment

Starting August 4th, 2025, the Ferndale Food Bank will use an appointment system for shopping. Scheduling for appointments will open on July 28th, 2025.

  • You can make an appointment online from home.

  • You’ll know exactly what time you can shop.

  • You can spend less time waiting on site to shop.

How to make an appointment:

Everyone needs an appointment each week. This can be made ahead of time OR once you arrive at the food bank that same day.

  • You will need to create a profile with your email and a password.

  • Appointments are in 5-minute time slots, with 7 households per slot.

  • You can only make one appointment per household each week.

Shopping for others?

You can shop for up to 2 other households

  • Just make one appointment.

  • At the front desk, give the names of the other households.

  • If any of the households you are shopping for have not been to the food bank before, you will need to turn in a New Client form for them. You can fill this out ahead of time here.

On distribution day:

  • Come 15 minutes before your time.

  • When your time is called, go to the front and get a cart.

  • Turn in your check in slip (and check in slips for any other households you’re shopping for) at the front desk to register.

  • Now you’re ready to shop!

  • If you’re more than 5 minutes late to your appointment, your spot is canceled. You’ll need to make a new appointment for that day or go to the Check-In table to reschedule.

When to make your appointment:

  • Appointments open 7 days before the bookable distribution.

  • They stay open until the end of the distribution hours at 11 AM.

  • You can still “walk up” for services. You don’t need to make an appointment before you come. When you arrive, you will just make one on the spot to save your place in line. This takes the place of the old number system.

Need help making an appointment?

  • Come to the Check-In table in the breezeway at 9 AM.

  • A volunteer will help you make an appointment for that day. You will receive a reservation reminder.

  • You can leave and come back 15 minutes before your time.
